Mutton Kola Urundai is a traditional Chettinad delicacy made with spiced minced mutton shaped into balls and deep-fried to a perfect golden brown. These flavorful meatballs are often served as an appetizer or as a side dish with rice or biryani.
Use fresh mutton mince for a better texture and flavor in the meatballs.
Adjust the spice level according to your preference by increasing or reducing the amount of green chili and chili powder.
Make sure to deep fry the balls in medium heat to ensure even cooking and avoid burning.
Make the kola urundai: Take mutton mince to water in a pot and cook for 7 to 10 mins. Drain the water and reserve the stock.
Take onion and curry leaves in a blender and crush coarsely.
Add mutton mince mix, coriander leaves, coconut and blend till combined.
Add it in a plate add in roasted gram dal powder and mix well. Shape into ball.
Deep fry in hot oil till golden. Drain and set aside. Serve Hot!
Serve the Mutton Kola Urundai hot with mint chutney or as a side dish with rice or biryani. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves for added flavor and presentation.
