  • Use fresh mutton mince for a better texture and flavor in the meatballs.

  • Mutton Minced Keema - 500 Grams
  • Green Chilli - 1 No
  • Pepper - 1 Teaspoon
  • Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cinnamon / Pattai - 1 Small Piece
  • Cardamom / Yelakai - 3 nos
  • Cloves / Krambu - 3 Nos
  • Bay Leaf - 1 No
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 Teaspoon
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tablespoon
  • Chilli Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Water - 2 Cups
  • Coriander Leaves - ½ Cup
  • Coconut - ¼ Cup
  • Roasted Gram Dal / Pori Kadalai (Powdered as Needed) - ½ Cup
  • Onion, Medium Size - 1 No
  • Curry Leaves - A Small Handful

Step 1

Make the kola urundai: Take mutton mince to water in a pot and cook for 7 to 10 mins. Drain the water and reserve the stock.

Step 2

Take onion and curry leaves in a blender and crush coarsely.

Step 3

Add mutton mince mix, coriander leaves, coconut and blend till combined.

Step 4

Add it in a plate add in roasted gram dal powder and mix well. Shape into ball.

Step 5

Deep fry in hot oil till golden. Drain and set aside. Serve Hot!

Serving:

Serve the Mutton Kola Urundai hot with mint chutney or as a side dish with rice or biryani. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves for added flavor and presentation.
